Rivermont Schools Hold Fall Festivals to Celebrate the Season

Over the past several weeks, Rivermont schools throughout Virginia have hosted Fall Festivals and Halloween activities to celebrate the season and provide students with an authentic school experience in a safe and sensory friendly environment.

These events included fun activities for students to participate in such as door decorating competitions, Trunk or Treats, crafts, pumpkin painting, haunted bus walk throughs, and other fun, fall games. Fall and Halloween themed food and beverages were served, and the schools were decked out to reflect the festivities. Many staff and students dressed up as different characters or donned creative costumes. Parents, families, and district partners were invited to join in on the fun.

“Core to Rivermont’s philosophy is serving as a community school, and that includes ensuring our students have opportunities like they would in their home school setting.” said Terry Templeton, Principal of Rivermont’s Danville Campus. “I'm proud of our staff members’ dedication and commitment to offering our students engaging school experiences that bring together the school and community for joy and celebration.”
