On September 27, Rivermont Schools and Your Life ABA joined together to host an Elevating Excellence Open House to showcase the new, updated features at the Chase City campus. 

The building has undergone a complete transformation since June. The campus update includes repainted walls, a redesigned calming room and front office, and updated classrooms, along with many other improvements. After seeing the new additions, one student says, “this feels just like a regular school.” The improvement of these elements enhanced the authentic school experience and positive learning atmosphere that Rivermont Schools aims to achieve. 

The event was well-attended by current and prospective families, students, and leadership members. Two students in the senior class lead tour groups around the campus to present the new features and talk about the programs offered at both the school and clinic. Staff also welcomed guests to come into their classrooms to engage in various, personalized activities. The Your Life ABA clinic had a craft activity where participants were able to make their own sensory jars with beads, orbs, and glitter. Snacks and beverages were also provided.  

The event had a positive and inviting atmosphere where team members bonded with families and students. Everyone was excited to show off the fantastic changes made to the building to their families and community.  

Community Relations Director Dominique Pretlow said, “It was a pleasure to be able to attend the Chase City Open House. To be able to witness the joyous atmosphere that the Leadership and Staff created was amazing. It was great to see the students give tours to families and staff enjoying spending time planning and hosting activities in their classroom.”
