New Story Schools has reached an important milestone, with its Berea and Toledo campuses receiving conditional approval as charter schools from the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce.

This designation allows both campuses to award high school credits for coursework aligned with Ohio's academic standards, giving students a pathway toward earning an accredited Ohio high school diploma while continuing to receive the individualized educational and behavioral supports that meet their unique needs.

"Receiving conditional approval as charter schools is an exciting step forward for our campuses and the students we serve," said Christina Spielbauer, SVP. "It allows us to expand academic opportunities while continuing to provide the specialized supports that help students grow, succeed, and prepare for the future."

The Berea and Toledo campuses serve students with diverse learning, behavioral, and social-emotional needs through individualized instruction, small class sizes, and evidence-based supports. By combining rigorous academics with personalized programming, the schools help students make meaningful progress both in and out of the classroom.

Both campuses are currently enrolling students in all grade levels for the 2026-2027 school year and have open seats available for students with a wide range of educational and behavioral support needs.

As the schools continue to grow, this milestone reinforces New Story Schools' commitment to providing high-quality, individualized education that prepares students for long-term academic and personal success.
