New Story Schools prides itself on being part of the vast and vibrant special education community in the areas we serve. However, we know that for most families, the need for services and support rarely ends with the school day. Thankfully, most areas offer a lot of additional services for autism support.

For our families in Independence, OH. here are just a few ideas of other resources:

  • Autism Society of Greater Cleveland is an organization that offers resources such as trainings, social activities, conferences, summer camps, and more. They specialize in advocacy, education, support, services, and research for the autism community. Their vision is to ensure that, “individuals and families living with autism are able to maximize their quality of life, are treated with the highest level of dignity, and live in a society in which their talents and skills are appreciated and valued.” Learn more here: https://www.asgc.org/home
  • Milestones Autism Resources offers different services to support the autism community including individual and family consultation, Ohio Family Network to connect families to other resources, a self-advocate social group, professional consultation and training, and teen/adult services.   • The Music Settlement – Music Therapy offers “clinical, preventative, and supportive services focused on the healing powers of music on a large scale.   • ABA Outreach Services is an organization that offers in-home services, social skills groups, school services and more.
