Rivermont, A New Story School recently held an open house event, along with an art expo to showcase their new and improved location in Hampton, VA.
The new building features elements including nearly 20,000 square feet of space, 11 classrooms, a playground, a trades class, career and technical education, a large gymnasium, individual and group counseling, and transition programming. These elements will help to better serve the staff and students, and allow students to continue growing and developing in a beautiful, well-equipped environment.
Upon seeing the new building for the first time, one student remarked that she had to pinch herself to believe that she was really getting to go to school in such a beautiful, new building.
The open house event brought in people from all over the area, including Mayor Donnie Tuck of the City of Hampton, several school board superintendents, LEA’s, as well as many parents and families of our students.
Those who attended the event were given a tour of the new building and got to enjoy the art expo showcasing some of the student’sstudents’ most creative work. There was also ample food and beverages for everyone to enjoy.
Regional Vice President of Rivermont Schools Fiesta Martin stated about the event, “Rivermont Hampton’s impact on the community was evidenced by the amazing turnout at the open house today and the art show was a hit with the guests. Our neighbors supported us well.”
