Rivermont: A New Story School prides itself on being part of the vast and vibrant special education community in the areas we serve. However, we know that for most families, the need for services and support rarely ends with the school day. Thankfully, most areas offer a lot of additional services for autism support.

For our families in Hampton, VA. here are just a few ideas of other resources.

Autism Resources:

• Compass is a behavioral health organization that offers autism services. Their Connections service offers both ABA and family support services for adolescents under the age of 21. The program is designed to improve children’s adaptive behaviors, train and support family members and caregivers to maintain behavior interventions in the home, and to work with other service providers to maintain treatment plans. • Blossom Behavioral Services is an organization in Hampton Roads that offers direct in-home ABA therapy, parent training, interdisciplinary consultation, supervision, and community outreach. “Blossom Behavioral Services is committed to applying the science of behavior to facilitate meaningful change that improves the quality of life for the individuals we serve and their families.” Learn more here: https://blossombehavioral.com/
• Butterfly Effects is a large organization that offers ABA services across many different states. They are focused on improving the lives of children and families affect by Autism Spectrum Disorder and they view ABA therapy as a collaborative effort between their team and the families they work with. They work with children to learn functional communication, develop meaningful social relationships, and minimize inappropriate behavior.
