This holiday season, New Story Schools - State College focused on the word gratitude during social emotional learning lessons! To bring this idea alive, our elementary aged students assisted in learning about, prepping for and filling Jared Box’s, for our local hospital! The Jared Box Project is an organization that asks volunteers to fill boxes with small gifts, toys, and activity books that will be given to a child who comes to the hospital, or emergency room for care! A local author, and friend of our counselor, came into the school to educate and speak to our students about the Jared Boxes, and provided our school with the boxes necessary to pack 20 for local hospitals! Our students enjoyed making cards and filling the boxes with various donated items from our staff here!
