Senior Vice President, Operations

Mario Basora is the Senior Vice President of Operations for New Story in Ohio. In this role, he has oversite for the state’s five New Story Schools and three Applied Behavioral Services (ABS) clinics. He works to drive operational excellence and growth for all of New Story’s Ohio-based schools and clinics. Mario is an educational advocate and leader with a background in a variety of positions. Prior to joining New Story, Mario spent the last decade serving as Superintendent for Huber Heights City and Yellow Spring School Districts. Notably, during his time as Superintendent of the Yellow Spring School District, Mario supported and led the Deeper Learning Training Center, which focuses on professional development and training opportunities for educators. Mario earned a bachelor’s degree in Teacher Education from Northern Kentucky University, a master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from Miami University, and his Superintendent’s Letter of Eligibility from Xavier University. Mario believes in activating students’ curiosity and that fueling their own desires to grow and learn is fundamental to every high-quality education.
